FLUSH THIS BOOK: True Tales of Bodily Malfunctions
Author Bios
Heidi R. Willis spent ten years in the Air Force.  Her stint in the military sent her all over the U.S., Europe and Asia, where she perfected the art of setting poo on fire and strengthened her quads as she hovered over shit pits. In 2005, Heidi finished her B.A., summa cum laude, in journalism with a minor in English from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.  She completed the UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting in June of 2009.  Her writing has been published in Newsweek and Country Discoveries.  She was also a guest host on a popular morning radio show in Germany.   In addition to Flush This Book, Heidi is writing a middle-grade novel, Emily and The Book of Destiny.

S. Jane Gari spent eleven years as a high school English teacher and has traveled extensively as well. Despite her claustrophobia, she has collected many horrifying tales of relieving herself in cramped spaces, including overflowing port-a-potties whose splashing contents sent the coauthor to the hospital for a tetanus shot.  She received her B.A. in English from S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook in 1996 and her M.A. in English from New York University in 1999.  Jane won the first place Carrie McCray Memorial Literary Award for nonfiction at the 2008 South Carolina Writers’ Workshop (SCWW) Conference and 3rd place for nonfiction at their 2010 conference. Two of her pieces, one personal essay and one poem, were published in the SCWW’s literary journal in October 2009.  The personal essay was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. In addition to Flush This Book, Jane has completed her memoir, Losing the Dollhouse and has begun writing a woman's fiction novel, Stages of Grace.
